Funny Story....

Not being the best student at East High School, I had a very rough time in Geometry with Mr. Smith.
Some of you may remember him. He was, I am sure, completely frustrated with me and yelled out for all to hear, "Ford, you will never make it to College!!!!"

Well, Mr. Smith...I not only make it to College with a triple major in my BS Degree by the age of 21, but earned my Master's Degree in record time with 90 hours to spare towards my Doctorate. I am NOT bragging...I'm just sayin' those words could have changed my life had I listened. I'm sure you meant well, (?) but be careful what is said. I might have believed you and my life could have been completely different.

School Story

My life's work has taken me down many varied roads.. After graduating from Utah State University with an MS in Marketing/Business, I traveled to San Francisco to work with United Airlines in the Interline/Agency Sales Office. Returning to Salt Lake City a few years later, I taught Business Management at Salt Lake Community College and started my own fashion show production company. After my 11 year teaching position, I took a big leap to the high seas and eventually became one of the first female Cruise Directors in the World, employed at Sitmar, Princess and Holland America Cruise Lines. After 20 years of being witty and charming 18 hours a day, I retired from the ship's, exhausted, and vowing never to wear make up again! (Didn't last!)

Throughout my life and because of my father's generosity, I also owned and managed Commercial Real Estate in the Salt Lake valley. Renovating, leasing and controlling these properties led to a Real Estate License and an interest in Interior Design, in which I am still active, today.

Patty....cannot thank you enough for the time and effort you put in to creating that jaw-dropping slide show. It was touching and funny in so many ways. The memories it brought back were overwhelming and I can truly say I think it was the highlight of the evening. I cannot even imagine the time and energy you put in to this project and believe me, we all appreciated it deeply. All the best to you and again, thank you for adding to a very memorable event. All the best,

Hi Nita...my dear, long time friend. Sorry I just saw your message! Our times at Clayton and East were so awesome. We did have SO much fun riding around town in my little convertibles. Your career in music is inspiring and I just pray you are directing the choir tomorrow night and will be forgiving of harmonizing errors! Been practicing but those sharps and flats are a challenge for this Alto'
Can't wait to see you! With love always,
Frankie

Hi Frankie; When I think of the high school days, I always remember our Lagoon dates. You with Eddie and me with Bob. What a lot of fun. You had the largest stuffed animal collection - thanks to Eddies talent at winning the games. I also remember our trips to the Great Salt Lake and riding around town on summer nights. I have thought several times of the time you and Karen Hough were in the terrible accident and totaled your first red convertible. So long ago.
