Sharie was a friend from Jr. High through college. She was down-to-earth, caring and creative. As part of her thank-you notes to her friends at her wedding shower, Sharie oil-painted a rose on the cover of each card.

Dear Sharie and I became great friends when she and her daughter moved to the mid-west in the 80's.  She was such an accomplished woman with so many talents and abilities and she was the best friend! Sharie was so generous and selfless and had such quiet dignity. Even today, the patio furniture she surprised me with and set up before I moved into my house sits in my yard. I dust off her treadmill now and then but I always think of her and how hard she tried to get well from ugly cancer. She did so well in her career and toured the world again and again bringing clever mementoes home to share. The most wonderful legacy Sharie left this world are her wonderful children and beautiful grandchildren. Jenny and Jason are people of substance, as was Sharie and just make the world a better place.  Sharie fought to live long enough to hold a new grandson in the hospital where they both were and I think she let go the next day.  She would have loved to watch him grow up and to spend time with all 9. I will always be grateful for her time in my life and the lessons of friendship she taught me. She was beautiful in every way.

I did not know Sharyn in High school.  But sometimes I wonder if the great insurance convention that I won one year with Lincoln Benefit was put together by her or her staff.  I've been to many over the years, but that one seemed to stand out.

I read Sharyn's 2008 obituary. ...then I read Jane's comments about her best friend and saw Kathy's post showing Sharyn's class and artistic ability...I am so glad that I was able to have this connection now to her,a wonderful teenager and an incredible woman.
