In Memory

Robert Norton

Robert Norton

Robert Roy Norton 1948 ~ 2010 A great man to many passed away from cancerous brain tumors, March 22, 2010.Robert Roy Norton was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 9, 1948 to Wilmer Norton and Lillian Lorraine Garbett. His father is living and Rob considered him a great and noble man. Robert was blessed to marry Kathleen Holbrook in his late teens. Together they brought six beautiful children into this world. Though their marriage ended, their relationship continued with respect and amiability and enduring love for their children. A second gift of capturing love was granted as he married Connie May Staker in 1986.

Their union was sealed for all eternity in the Lord's Holy Temple. Together they built an enchanted cottage and never came out. One more fair beauty was born to join her older siblings. Love, acceptance, joy and fun were the companions to our family as we lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Robert was active in his church callings and served valiantly. He loved his Savior and had a fervent testimony of the assurance that Jesus Christ would redeem his soul. He was actively engaged in finding and doing exciting things with his children. A shared love of photography with his wife, Connie, chronicled their days and activities with cherished pictures. He was a most generous man and lived his life with integrity and without guile. He worked at Zion's bank and declared that he worked with men and women who were the best in their professional world. He is survived by his greatest love, his wife, Connie, and his seven children, Thayne (Peggy); Brandon (Heather); Heath (Amanda); Vanessa (Willie); Rhett (Brenda); Dax (Laura) and Marshay; 10 grandchildren with one on the way, sister Sharon Wise (Roy); brother David (Karen), father Wilmer (Molly), step-father Jim Reed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Lorraine Garbett Reed. His last days were graciously cared for by loving nurses Dana and Camille of CNS Hospice Service. Thank you, dear angels.
