From a distance in high school, I so loved that Gary and Chris were a couple.Years later at the Cottonwood Club,Chris and I reconnected. ...she and her husband also had a young son...Gary's Alicia, whose birth was announced to a cheering crowd, was almost grown...an incredibly bright and beautiful girl.Gary died too young.

Gary and I grew up a few houses from each other.  In front of his home on 12th East there are grass parks with the streets on both sides - they are still there.  His older brother Mike and his  East High football buddies would play some tough games of football on the parks.   Gary and I were younger, but they let us play and we got beat up a lot.   Tackling someone on the street meant nothing and some one usually got bloody.   Gary was a friend and the best running back in the state when we played for East.  Weeks after taking the  State Championship in 1965 we had a scrimmage on the football field with all our football gear on and with refs. We didn't know why we had the scrimmage, but found out later it was so college scouts could watch Gary play - they came from all over the country.   Sad Gary died so early in his life as well as all are other wonderful classmates.
