Bill Davies ** (Counselor, Track Coach)

On July 19, 1997, Bill passed away at home of cancer, with the honor and dignity he always exemplified. His family, who dearly loved him, was by his side.

Born May 4, 1930 in a farmhouse in Fillmore, Utah to Clarence A. Davies and Mae Mitchell Davies. Attended elementary and high school in Fillmore, Utah excelling in both academics and athletics. Bill achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. On January 24, 1953 he married T. Geneal Bloomquist. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple. He received a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Brigham Young University and Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. Also served in the Military at Fort Ord, Calif. Bill's professional career was spent mostly working in the educational system. He worked as a teacher and Director of Pupil Personnel in the Millard County School District, counselor and track coach at East High, and Psychologist and Director of Handicapped programs for the Salt Lake School District. He counseled many in a private practice from 1963 to 1996. A warm smile and a genuine concern for all was given to everyone he met. He extended countless hours of service through his professional expertise, impacting many lives for the better.He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many callings-Young Men's leader, Bishop of the Winder West 14th Singles Ward and High Counselor in the Hidden Valley Stake. He carried out these callings with responsibility and total commitment. His talent for writing family history books will be recognized for countless generations. Bill had the unique ability to sense the needs of others. Even from a first meeting he could make anyone feel like a son, daughter, grandchild or best friend.

Survived by his dear wife, Geneal, of 44 years; sister, Elaine Nichol; children, Michael H. (Becky), Sandy, Patrick C. (Lisa), Sandy, Mark R. (Lynda), Taylorsville, and Sheri Lyn (Greg) Utley, Sandy; 19 grandchildren; father and mother-in-law.
