James Edward Bagley passed away at home on August 21st, 2017 after a two-year battle with cancer. James is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lorraine, and his three daughters Eryn, Amanda, and Taylor. James was born and raised in Salt Lake City, the son of Lucy Bringhurst Bagley and Ames K. Bagley. In his early years, James was a member of the Boy Scouts and after graduating from East High School, he attended the University of Utah and studied computer science. James was a pioneer in barcode-reading technology, with his career spanning over 40 years. He worked for several companies at the forefront of technological advancements in barcode-reading, including: Radix, Symbol, Telxon and Code Corporation. James was a family man and he raised his daughters in Fort Myers, Florida where he enjoyed weekends on the water and was an avid golfer. He saw much of the country and the world in his free time and for business. James was known for being a talented guitarist and history buff. In his later years, James and Lori retired to Tybee Island, Georgia. He loved to spend time on the North Beach watching the freighter ships come in and go out to sea. James was loved by all and will be missed by many.
